Rafting and Driftboating
We work with expert whitewater rafting and drift boat guides who can show you Klamath River from a whole new perspective. Our local guides can put together a whitewater rafting trip or take you on a driftboat to the best fishing spots around. The Klamath River is known for it's abundance or trout, salmon, and, steelhead. In fact, the river is considered to have the best steelhead fishing opportunities in California.
Around Orleans, California, you'll find numerous excellent hiking trails, including Aikens Creek Trail, Bluff Creek Trail, and many others. Trails in the area are appropriate for a wide variety of skill ages and skill levels.
Around Orleans, there are a number of scenic byways leading to off-the-beaten-path destinations: Jefferson Scenic Byway, Bald Hills Road to the Redwood Coast, Greyback Road over the High Siskiyous, to name a few. Check out our article on scenic drives for details.
Salmon River Outpost an offbeat country store just a quarter mile upriver from the Salmon River Road. They have a nice selection of food, beverages, gear, and books on the Klamath River area. This is an excellent place to stop by for supplies on when you visit Sandy Bar Ranch.
Humboldt County has a number of great swimming holes, some of which are relatively unknown. Of course, you can simply walk down to Pearch Creek for a dip when you stay at Sandy Bar Ranch.
